A Glimpse into HANDLE®
The presentation will be about 45 minutes, including demonstrations and hands on experiences. There will be additional time at the end for discussion.
This meeting is for you if you are a parent, professional, caregiver, or curious individual who seeks a better understanding of how behaviors can communicate about underlying neurological stressors.
HANDLE®, a Holistic Approach to Neurodevelopment and Learning Efficiency, is a NON-DRUG approach, that respects the body, mind, and soul by identifying sources of neuro-systemic stress which may be interfering with day-to-day living. The approach addresses many perplexing issues of behavior, social, emotional and physical function.
HANDLE Evaluations help determine which systems are functioning inefficiently due to neuro-developmental or neuro-degenerative challenges. This could include: Autism, ADD/ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Perplexing Behaviors, Sleep Disorders, Stroke and other Issues of Aging, and much much.
HANDLE applies the principle of Gentle Enhancement® to support disorganized neurological systems, and help the body and brain work more efficiently together.
HANDLE acknowledges labels and diagnoses as a form of shorthand to describe clusters of symptomatic behaviors, and not validating the individual’s differences.
Level 1- An Introduction to HANDLE -
8 hour course
Open to All - no Prerequisite
HANDLE, a Holistic Approach to Neurodevelopment and Learning Efficiency, suitable for all ages. It addresses many issues of behavior, as well as social, emotional and physical function. It is a gentle, non-drug modality, which takes advantage of neuroplasticity to help the body and brain work more efficiently together. HANDLE is suited for all ages.
This course is for you if you are a parent, professional, caregiver or curious individual who seeks a better understanding of how behaviors can communicate about underlying neurological stressors.

Level 2 - The Basics of HANDLE
16 hour course
Prerequisite - Level 1 Certificate of Attendance
The course explores how irregularities in neurological and developmental systems relate to perplexing behaviors and dysfunction and offers activities, strategies and compensations to reduce stress and improve function. In this course, you will understand more about what behaviors can reveal about neurological irregularities using the HANDLE® paradigm. Specifically, we'll look at different sensory and organizational systems and discuss behaviors that may indicate irregularities in them. This course is the core of the HANDLE approach.
Course Content:
- Discover root causes of challenging behaviors and learning difficulties

The HANDLE® Approach has helped families across the nation and around the world to achieve significant results, like walking, talking, writing, memory and staying attentive from early childhood through elderly. It incorporates many different disciplines and provides families, caregivers, educators and therapists with a gentle, powerful, respectful, non-invasive and non-drug approach to seemingly unsolvable and hopeless situations, and enhances all forms of learning, both in children and adults.
No one is too old for HANDLE.
· A 16-hour course teaches the Foundations and Applications of Judith Bluestone’s pioneering, award-winning HANDLE Approach which developed theories on Attention, Autism and more through the lens of an array of life and learning challenges, affecting young children to elderly.
· Understand what behaviors can reveal about neurological irregularities using the HANDLE paradigm, and begin to see behaviors as communication with new “HANDLE eyes”.
· Look beyond the labels at the underlying causes of conditions such as Learning Disabilities, ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders and more.
· Recognize subtle signs of stress, and learn how to use Gentle Enhancement® to prevent crises and foster resilience.
· Discover the interconnected relationship of nutrition, neurophysiology, healthy movement and more.
· Gain insights and receive some practical ideas you can use immediately.
· Learn 12 unique HANDLE activities, and explore how the activities can be applied and adapted to enhance focus, reduce stress, and support learning, attention, motor or behavior challenges at any age. These Activities can be immediately applied in classroom, home and clinic settings.

Deepening Your Paradigm -
an Advanced Integtation Course
for HANDLE Level 1 & 2

This is a 16 week course, which meets online for 2-hours each class.
Prerequisite - Level 2 Certificate of Attendance OR Level 1-2 Intensive Certificate of Attendance

This course is designed for individuals who have completed HANDLE Levels 1 and 2 and are ready to deepen their understanding of the HANDLE Paradigm through guided exploration, discussion, observation, and practical application.
Please note: This is not a HANDLE Institute Certification Course.
The focus of this course is on applying HANDLE principles with individuals experiencing mild to moderate challenges. It is not intended to prepare participants to work with significantly involved individuals.
Many of the concepts introduced in this course overlap with the material presented in the Level 3 Course. Should you choose to continue your learning with Level 3 through Parzival Therapies, the full tuition paid for this course will be credited toward your Level 3 registration.
What you will Explore
Throughout this 16-week course, we will build upon the knowledge gained in Levels 1 and 2 by exploring:
• A deeper understanding of the foundational concepts of the HANDLE Paradigm.
• The organization, interaction, and support of the Systems within the HANDLE model.
• Developing your powers of observation to recognize what behaviors may be communicating about an individual's needs, strengths, and areas of support.
• Identifying well-established Systems that provide resilience and stability.
• A more in-depth review of the activities introduced in Levels 1 and 2, including:
o when and why to use them
o how to adapt activities to meet individual needs
o recognizing subtle responses and meaningful changes
• Expanding your ability to feel, observe, listen, think, and most importantly, to be fully present with another person.
This course emphasizes thoughtful practice, curiosity, and developing confidence in your clinical observations.
This course is also included as the foundations taught in the Parzival Therapies - HANDLE Level 3 Practitioner course. If you take this course, and decide to continue on with our Level 3, we will credit the fees from Deepening" to your Level 3 fees. Please contact us with any questions.

Level 3 is designed to develop practitioners, those who are ready to deepen their understanding of the HANDLE Paradigm and thoughtfully apply it in practice.
Prerequisite -
Level 2 Certificate of Attendance OR Level 1-2 Intensive Certificate of Attendance
Build a HANDLE® Practice
Deepen your understanding of the HANDLE® Paradigm through competency-based learning that strengthens your observation skills, clinical reasoning, and ability to interpret how sensory and neurological systems work together.
Throughout this course, you will build the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to use guided exploratory tools to develop individualized HANDLE Activity Programs grounded in Gentle Enhancement®, systems thinking, and respect for each person's unique way of functioning.
Designed as the next step following HANDLE® Levels 1 and 2, this course combines in-depth learning, supervised practice, and reflective integration to prepare you to become a HANDLE Practitioner in association with The HANDLE Institute®.
Successful completion of all course requirements leads to a Certificate of Completion as a HANDLE Practitioner issued through The HANDLE Institute®, authorizing graduates to use exploratory tools and HANDLE Activities within the scope of their training.
Why Level 3?
Level 3 is where HANDLE concepts become integrated into clinical practice. Through guided learning, supervised practicum experiences, individualized feedback, and reflective application, you will strengthen your ability to recognize patterns of system organization, understand how sensory systems influence one another, and develop meaningful, individualized HANDLE Activity Programs.
This course prepares you to work with verbal clients (approximately age five through adulthood) who present with mild to moderate challenges and are able to follow instructions, hold a pencil, and participate in table-based activities for approximately 45 minutes.
