A Glimpse into HANDLE®
The presentation will be about 45 minutes, including demonstrations and hands on experiences. There will be additional time at the end for discussion.
This meeting is for you if you are a parent, professional, caregiver, or curious individual who seeks a better understanding of how behaviors can communicate about underlying neurological stressors.
HANDLE®, a Holistic Approach to Neurodevelopment and Learning Efficiency, is a NON-DRUG approach, that respects the body, mind, and soul by identifying sources of neuro-systemic stress which may be interfering with day-to-day living. The approach addresses many perplexing issues of behavior, social, emotional and physical function.
HANDLE Evaluations help determine which systems are functioning inefficiently due to neuro-developmental or neuro-degenerative challenges. This could include: Autism, ADD/ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Perplexing Behaviors, Sleep Disorders, Stroke and other Issues of Aging, and much much.
HANDLE applies the principle of Gentle Enhancement® to support disorganized neurological systems, and help the body and brain work more efficiently together.
HANDLE acknowledges labels and diagnoses as a form of shorthand to describe clusters of symptomatic behaviors, and not validating the individual’s differences.
Level 1- An Introduction to HANDLE -
8 hour course
Open to All - no Prerequisite
HANDLE, a Holistic Approach to Neurodevelopment and Learning Efficiency, suitable for all ages. It addresses many issues of behavior, as well as social, emotional and physical function. It is a gentle, non-drug modality, which takes advantage of neuroplasticity to help the body and brain work more efficiently together. HANDLE is suited for all ages.

Level 2 - The Basics of HANDLE
16 hour course
Prerequisite - Level 1 Certificate of Attendance
The course explores how irregularities in neurological and developmental systems relate to perplexing behaviors and dysfunction and offers activities, strategies and compensations to reduce stress and improve function. In this course, you will understand more about what behaviors can reveal about neurological irregularities using the HANDLE® paradigm. Specifically, we'll look at different sensory and organizational systems and discuss behaviors that may indicate irregularities in them. This course is the core of the HANDLE approach.

HANDLE® is a Holistic Approach to Neuro-Development and Learning Efficiency
The HANDLE® Approach has helped families across the nation and around the world to achieve significant results, like walking, talking, writing, memory and staying attentive from early childhood through elderly. It incorporates many different disciplines and provides families, caregivers, educators and therapists with a gentle, powerful, respectful, non-invasive and non-drug approach to seemingly unsolvable and hopeless situations, and enhances all forms of learning, both in children and adults.
No one is too old for HANDLE.
· A 16-hour course teaches the Foundations and Applications of Judith Bluestone’s pioneering, award-winning HANDLE Approach which developed theories on Attention, Autism and more through the lens of an array of life and learning challenges, affecting young children to elderly.
· Understand what behaviors can reveal about neurological irregularities using the HANDLE paradigm, and begin to see behaviors as communication with new “HANDLE eyes”.
· Look beyond the labels at the underlying causes of conditions such as Learning Disabilities, ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders and more.
· Recognize subtle signs of stress, and learn how to use Gentle Enhancement® to prevent crises and foster resilience.
· Discover the interconnected relationship of nutrition, neurophysiology, healthy movement and more.
· Gain insights and receive some practical ideas you can use immediately.
· Learn 12 unique HANDLE activities, and explore how the activities can be applied and adapted to enhance focus, reduce stress, and support learning, attention, motor or behavior challenges at any age. These Activities can be immediately applied in classroom, home and clinic settings.

Welcome to Applied Level 2
Presented by Parzival Therapies in affiliation with the
HANDLE® Institute
This is a 15 week course, which meets online for 2-hours each class.
Prerequisite - Level 2 Certificate of Attendance OR Level 1-2 Intensive Certificate of Attendance
This course is for people who want to understand and apply their HANDLE Level 1 & 2 course training more thoroughly. This course is NOT a Certification Course from the HANDLE Institute.
It is intended for those who are interested in bringing the HANDLE Activities into their current work, be it classrooms or clinics.
The level of focus will be intended for those with mild to moderate challenges.
It is NOT intended to prepare students to work with significantly involved individuals.
The material in this course overlaps with my Level 3, the Screener Certification Course.
Upon successful completion of this course, should you decide to take Level 3 with me and learn additional tools for Screening clients, I will credit the cost of this course to Level 3.
What is covered in this course?
• Further exploration of the concepts taught in Levels 1 and 2.
• Building a deeper knowledge and understanding of the Foundations of the HANDLE Paradigm and the Systems.
• We will work on our powers of observation to see what behaviors may be telling us about which Systems need support. We will also be looking to see which Systems are well established and providing support.
• Review and explore more deeply the activities taught in Levels 1 and 2, that can be applied to enhance functions for those you are working with; as well as how to modify the activities to meet the needs of the people with whom you work.
• Expansion of your capacities to feel, watch, listen and think. To be present.

Level 3 Online

(1st Course for certification as a HANDLE Provider - Screener)
Prerequisites: The application process is open to those who have certification of completing HANDLE Levels 1 & 2.
Prerequisite -
Level 2 Certificate of Attendance OR Level 1-2 Intensive Certificate of Attendance
This course is for people who want to become certified providers of HANDLE Services.
This course will teach you how to carry out a HANDLE Screening and create a customized HANDLE program to address the issues you discover. The HANDLE Screening is for clients from the age of five and older, with mild to moderate challenges. The client is expected to be verbal, able to hold a pencil, follow instructions and can do some tasks at a table for approximately 45 minutes.
Completion of all course requirements enables you to be certified as a HANDLE Screener by The HANDLE Institute®, and to use the HANDLE Screening Tool and Activities professionally.
What is covered in this course?
• Participants receive a personal HANDLE Screening, insights into their own unique ways of functioning in the world, and an individualized program of HANDLE activities.
• The screening process: the screening tool tasks, making sense of observations and intake information, creating a program, presenting your findings, all this with a non-judgmental attitude and a systems perspective.
• Further exploration of the concepts taught in Levels 1 and 2. Build a deeper knowledge and understanding of the Foundations of the HANDLE Paradigm
• Review and exploration of the activities taught in Levels 1 and 2, plus 13 additional HANDLE activities that can be applied to enhance functions for those you screen; as well as how to modify the activities to meet the needs of your clients.
• Practice of activities and screening tasks in small groups with peers
• Expansion of your capacities to feel, watch, listen and think. To be present.
• Supervised practicum work with clients: These are supervised screenings with clients, in which you will work with your peers as a team. You will screen at least two clients and assist your teammates with at least four more. This will give you the opportunity to identify weak systems, determine appropriate recommendations, and present the findings to client families. The training will include working with clients who are in the same space as the Screener-student. All of this will be supervised online.
Certification will be determined by the Demonstration of Competency of:
* Additional supervised independent Screenings.
* Successful completion of an interactive take home exam.
* Demonstration of Competency with 25 total Activities.
* Demonstration of Competency with the HANDLE Screening Tool
